The year 2020 ends the biggest graduation ceremony ever at Horizon TESOL, with the presence of Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – President of the Association of English Language Research and Teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, together with our beloved teachers and course participants. The graduation ceremony held on December 29, 2020, has brought many precious memories and filled with emotional moments for all attendees.
The ceremony marks not only the end of the course but also the end of a journey. 120 hours of useful lessons with demos, teaching methods, and techniques were built together by teachers and learners to create truly rewarding, highly applicable, and valuable lessons. These lessons are part and parcel for the career path of our future teachers. All of this time and effort is acknowledged and appreciated with a well-prepared and emotional ceremony.
The event opened with the sharings of Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong – founder and CEO of SpeakOnly English Center chain. In his charismatic talk, Mr. Duong shared interesting information about the career path and promotion progress of teaching in particular and the education sector in general. With years of practical experience in the industry, his shared effective and practical tips, techniques, and methods will be a steady platform for the learners to shape their own direction. Mr. Duong enclosed his sharing with meaningful messages about the necessary qualities of a teacher: enthusiasm, commitment, love, kindness, and devotion.

The ceremony was also honored to welcome Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – President of the Ho Chi Minh City English Language Research and Teaching Association (Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association) with the full attendance of lecturers and learners of the Horizon TESOL Center.
At the commencement of the event, Mr. Loc gave out a speech to congratulate the newly-graduated learners, as well as concluding the vision and mission of Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association:
“On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association, I congratulate all learners on completing the course. I also thank Horizon TESOL and JFL for coordinating in creating a qualified TESOL training environment. 2020 has been a turbulent year, especially for the education sector. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused great difficulties for the education industry worldwide, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners worldwide. The commitment and perseverance you put into overcoming difficulties to complete your course is a huge success. We all know English is a very essential condition for integration, especially in the current internationalization trend. Vietnam’s economic growth is currently in the top 10 in Asia; however, the sad truth is that according to the International Language Study Abroad (EF), our English proficiency is ranked 52/100th. The situation urged Vietnam to develop and maintain the greater and larger English teaching labor force, which is also the goal and mission that the Ho Chi Minh City English Language Research and Teaching Association is aiming at. Today is not only an opportunity to celebrate but also a chance for you to reflect on your efforts as well as your achievements. I know some of you came here to get the diploma, some for promotion at work, and some just for the sake of learning. Whatever your motivation is, I wish you all success on your career path and achieve your dreams. Once again, congratulations and wishes for your success! ”
At the ceremony, Master Le Thanh Ngan – Member of Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh City TESOL City Association, CEO and founder of the America – Australia English Language Center chain shared:
“At Horizon TESOL, we aim at getting learners equipped with fundamental and advanced knowledge and skills in language teaching. Also, it is the willingness and confidence that are prioritized in the classroom after completing the course at Horizon TESOL. Accredited as the representative of the HCMC TESOL Association and also, the only partner of Advanced College of Languages and Training Canada, Horizon TESOL provides teaching training courses recognized both nationwide and globally. This brings a huge benefit for participants to achieve better job opportunities.”
In the joyful atmosphere of the ceremony, the learners who participated and completed the course at Horizon TESOL had some comments and sharings on their journey and achievements at the center.
Mr. Huynh Anh Vu – whose course started on October 20, 2020, shared:
“What impressed me the most is not only the knowledge of the language and teaching but also the opportunities are given for us to help deal with real-life classroom situations and settings with guidance from lecturers. From this, we can develop suitable approaches for ourselves.”
Ms. Nguyen Cao Ky Uyen – a learner of the 10/10/2020 course also shared excitedly:
“Meeting and training with lecturers help me choose and develop my own teaching style. From all the knowledge and skills acquired after the TESOL course at Horizon TESOL, I believe in my ability to follow this career path and especially, the internationally recognized TESOL Diploma from Canada will open doors for me to teach in the international environment. In the coming time, Horizon TESOL will be launching projects that will continuously enhance the training quality and also propose new programs which meet the demand of modern society. Course participants will be not only awarded a certificate, but also a set of values for themselves and for the community.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hang – a practitioner who flew from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City to take the course at Horizon TESOL expressed:

The ceremony has brought unforgettable emotions and marked the learning progress of learners throughout the courses.
